Ph.D., Electrical and Computer Engineering, Louisiana State University, 1989 7. 내용요약(Abstract) ZnO thin films and nanowires are being explored for transparent electronics, UV light emitting diodes, spin-based devices and chemical sensors. Critical issues for many device applications include formation of low resistivity, high carrier density p-type ZnO material. In this talk, I will discuss carrier acceptor doping in epitaxial thin films, introduction of spin moments through transition metal doping, and the use of ZnO nanowires for sensor devices. Discussion will include stability of transport properties, stabilization of surfaces, and device characteristics. In addition, the potential of other functional oxides in transparent oxide electronics will be discussed.
